Never made it back to bed but I want to take a moment to write what I've been thinking for the past few days but have been too busy numbing my ears with the videos to put down.
I've always been a fan of Queen--but I am obsessed with Adam. I hang on his every note, facial expression, body movement. Adam has memorized even Queen fans with his powerful renditions, so (as you all know) it's even more F-ing mind blowing for super-fans like me.
But, one surprisingly huge thing I have taken from these concerts is the power of the music itself. Even as focused as I am on vocals, I find myself unable to ignore, and am equally as moved by, the expressiveness of the instrumentation. WWTLF--it couldn't be sung better--but just listen to how Brian picks up where Adam leaves off and is equally as emotion-grabbing. Their songs are so varied, not just from each other but also within themselves. I knew Queen was "rock royalty" but I now truly have FELT the superiority of their music. These men, together, wrote complex masterpieces.
It angers me to read reviews by people who must be too focused on what they think should be popular to feel this music. Do they not feel when they hear "Love of my Life"? Are they too busy checking their text messages to notice the solos? Are they able to NOT smile during "Underpressure"? At any age, these men kick the ass of anything made today! Maybe this is the problem with today's music world: people are too focused on what's next to even take in what is now. Part of why Adam is so powerful singing Queen is because he "gets" the music.
Adam shines in these concerts. But for once, finally, I think he has met his equals. How awesome it must feel for him to be surrounded by his level of mastery. I am honored to witness them all.
"I prefer folks with their own, individual point of view and the balls to verbalize it" -Adam Lambert
Can I ask something I've been dying to know? Did NationalGlampoon see Jeck Beck in audience? (Or if you're here, Glampoon, let me know!) I remember him saying that Beck is his favorite guitarist. It must've been incredible your hero is giving accolades to AL! I can't wait am to go back and read every post, but must sleep now or I'll never make it thru this trip.
Jeff was there?! Standing? Wish I'd seen him, he's amazeballs
Hi Glampoon! :D I hope I'm not spreading baseless rumors, but this is per a Tweet I read right after I got back from the show. He probably was backstage. Does anyone know if this "sighting" was legit?
funkNNsoul @funknnsoul
OMFG! Still flailing over meeting my guitar hero, Jeff Beck! And he said the show was great and Adam was wonderful!! WooHoo!

Neil Mc Cormick from ,The Telegraph, really goes out on the ledge when he uses the age thing with Brian and Roger.
The great band members that are still making music, delighting fans of all ages are in their sixties or more.. For example Kiss,Paul McCartney,Aerosmith,The Rolling Stones, etc. Would Mr. Mc Cormick put the best of all the rock bands out to pasture because of their age.. How about talent, great music, and being relevant in today's world filled with throw away music . There is no doubt about it, this man has his head up his non-musical arse.

Yesterday was the best day everrr loved spending time with the gorgeous Glamily and the show was above and beyond the best show ever, nothing prepared me for Adam's voice live though, I mean I knew he was the best singer of all time, but I've never heard the voice captured like that in any recording. I just couldn't believe my ears I mean ahskfjsasd and it was fun to hear Queen fans actually gasping when Adam hit a high note. Some of the best high notes I've heard by Adam too, TSMGO, WATC, I was even more awestruck by this beautiful, perfect man than usual. Ans loved hearing the converts afterwards, Queen fans buying TP and berting... heard nothing negative all night. Everyone just glowing in positivity still trying to pick their jaw up from off the floor.
Stageshow was so well done too, LOML made me cry Band was flawless, was amazing seeing one of my longtime geetar heroes, and having such fun too.
Can't wait to watch it again
I have a friend who is a fan and yet has never gone with me to an Adam concert (and thereby missed WLL in Milwaukee for the love of all that's holy and righteous in the world. Then again, he's a straight male so he might not have appreciated Milwaukee WLL the way the females in the audience did. Ahem..) Well, anyway, he hasn't gone to a live concert in a long time, because his experience tells him that no one these days sounds as good as their recordings. We keep trying to tell him that, showmanship aside, the recordings do not do Adam's live voice justice. Truly the best live vocals I've ever heard in my life.
And Drakius -- thanks for your work. I'll patiently wait for the disc, no worries.
EXAMPLE: This may be my favorite EVER performance by Adam. He doesn't even sing that much in it, but what he does sing cuts it hard. His costume choice is PERFECT and his dancing is SO expressive. But lets give props to Queen for the amazing baseline, guitar and drums that drive the performance. They wrote this song umpteen years ago and it still "today". Even the lighting is superb enhancement. Without the mood Queen set up with this music Adam wouldn't have had anything to groove to, jam with, wail on, strut to or FEEL.
I would love to see this song in Adam's next concert tour, if he could pull it off without Queen. And I wish to never see Adam choreographed again--I much prefer his "organic" moves!
ETA And those silver print pants HAVE TO be on tour too--they were as on fire as he was!
The real dynamo of the night was Adam Lambert. His addition to the band may only be a temporary measure, but for the first time in 21 years, it feels like Queen are back in their heyday.
Awww. Doug commented on one of Suz's vids. Thanks Suz, great video as usual. I always saw him as the lead singer of a huge rock act. Best singer I've worked for in the 30 years of being in the biz. I'm so stoked that he's on that stage I can't put it in to words. Dougasauris 6 hours ago

blueberry: A tech question. When I post, I'm stuck in BB Code, can't get back to Preview. Any ideas? I have Preview as default in my profile, but that doesn't help.

Q3: blueberry. there should be a two labels on tabs at the bottom of the REPLY box -- one labeled Preview and one labeled BBCode. Can you see these or are they gone?
May 19, 2013 2:08:40 GMT -5
blueberry: Q3, I can still see the labels, but when I click on the Preview label, nothing happens. And every time I start a new post, it automatically takes me to BB Code. Otherwise it doesn't matter, but posting pictures would be easier in Preview (copy+paste).
