Adam Lambert is hitting the promotional trail to support his new album that arrives in stores in just a few weeks. A part of his promotion was a mini concert for Jimmy Kimmel Live. Fans at the taping got to see a set list that included five songs from his new set. Home viewers were treated to Adam’s performance of his latest single, “Never Close Our Eyes.” Dressed in all black, Adam completely rocked the stage. The performance started tenderly and then transitioned into an upbeat, body rocking event. Flawless. But we didn’t expect anything less from Adam.
My opinion of the songs? Adam is a genius. What a way to put on a show that is stunning yet doesn't rely on gimmicks, big production numbers, and multi-layered backing tracks to cover weak performances. I LIKE this Era 2 look and style.
1. NCOE: For the uninitiated, what is the Adam Lambert guy about? Watch the first 40 seconds of this performance and you have a large part of the answer. First view? Gorgeous man. Striking! First notes? Damn! This guy can SANG. Beautiful, clear, ringing voice that floats over the audience. Then, the angel grabs hold of the mic fiercely and he is off and running. What a superb introduction to the performer named Adam Lambert.
The arrangement works so well. Tommy plays some funky backing riffs. Brian includes old rock/funk style organ sounds. The divas plus Brian add a rich backing vocal that compliments Adam's voice without detracting from it. So much better that the prerecorded backing vocal tracks of the last Era. Isaac and Ashley drive the song with a relentless beat. The song modulates from ballad to pop to croon to power rock.
2. Trespassing. An anthem for rebels and outsiders. Such fun to stomp and clap along to. TBH, there is not a lot to the melody and lyrics. It is a bit repetitive. But, that is intentional, IMO. Like the classic We Will Rock You, it is designed to be sung/chanted with fist pumps and attitudes galore.
3. Naked Love: Who knew? This song has a massive hook that Adam threw out there front and center at the very beginning: Ohhhhh, ohhhhh, ohhhh. With a mini-church choir and keyboards reminiscent of an organ. "Okay, you got your part? Then, here we go!" and he's launching into this pop-y dance party funk. What fun and joy (and sexy times). Then, the bridge comes around and is that Adam's version of rap? Finally, let's end this with a call and respond sing-along. One little side note: did you see when Adam turned his mic toward the audience the second time to pick up their voices, he kept singing and even with the mic faced away from his mouth, his voice was so present?
4. Broken English: Defies categorization. New age ethereal tune meets power rock ballad, meets mid-eastern wail with maybe a little "come to Jesus" gospel feel? But the singers in church never used those sexy moves. And the voice! So clear, so floating, so piercing, so haunting, so powerful, and all shades in between.
5. Cuckoo: We're gonna party til they take us away! Definitely has a dance party bass and drum drive, but is that Tommy playing a nasty funky guitar? Then some rock riffs? And the multi-part a cappella "lose my mind" is so powerfully compelling. Let's all lose our minds together.
Adam sounded better than great. Looked classy, trashy, sexy, angelic. The band and vajayjays provided great accompaniment. A wonderful time was had by all. Era #2 is going to blow minds around the globe.
Adam Lambert teased his upcoming sophomore album Trespassing this week by performing a five-song mini-concert of songs from the record on Jimmy Kimmel.
The performances included his new electro-pop single “Never Close Our Eyes”, which is on iTunes now, but still isn’t due at mainstream radio for another month.
Glambert must really be super pumped about his new album, because he was queening out on stage and giving us more diva than ever before. It was a little Las Vegas cabaret in parts, but overall he killed it with great vocals and a lot of confidence. Lord knows that these days it’s refreshing to see a pop star who can actually sing an entire song live and still slay.
One of the songs Adam performed, “Naked Love”, was a Benny Blanco / Shellback production that sampled Crystal Waters’ hit “100% Pure Love”. It’s really catchy and upbeat, and reminded me a lot of Katy Perry mixed with Madonna. Then there was the Pharrell Williams penned & produced “Trespassing”, which showed off Glambert’s funkier side.
I’m gonna w!%#e the s*&t outta this album when it drops next month! VIDEOS
Last night, Adam Lambert performed a 5-song set on Jimmy Kimmel Live with some of the amazing tracks from his upcoming album, ‘Trespassing‘. He performed live for about 1,000 fans in the parking lot behind the famous El Capitan theater. Lambert sang “Never Close Your Eyes” and the title track to his forthcoming album, “Trespassing” (I’ve included the performance video below). Those were the only two songs that were shown on television, but he actually sang three more for the fans that were there. The other three songs included “Naked Love” (which I’ve also included below), “Broken English” and “Cuckoo.”
Lambert’s new album comes out May 15 and from the previews I’ve heard, it’s going to be epic. Watch his flawless performances from last night below.
With just over three weeks to go, the countdown to Adam Lambert's new album Trespassing is on, and so is the promo blitz. A highlight so far?
Lambert's five-song set on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! April 26.
Only two songs made it to air -- new single "Never Close Our Eyes" and title track "Trespassing," but the American Idol season 8 runner-up spent a good 15 more minutes onstage, entertaining the 1,000 glamberts lucky enough to score entry to the outdoor mini-concert. His set included three more songs from his forthcoming album (due out May 15), "Naked Love," "Broken English" and "Cuckoo."
Lots of video can be found on Youtube and THR has an exclusive clip for "Naked Love" (watch it here) as well as a few photos from the performance courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Check them out below:
Lambert announced that the Bruno Mars-penned "Never Close Our Eyes" would his second single via Twitter on April 11.
After the performance, Lambert ran over to a crowd of autograph seekers in the alley behind Hollywood's El Capitan theater.
I'm Sooooooooo tired and just waiting for Kimmel to come on TV but I just had to stop in and say
OOOOO MMMMMM GGGGGGG !!!!!!!!!
The concert was so freaking fantastic!! I think I blabbed all my feelings on Twitter, and I'm really not able to think of any more expletives superlatives to describe how great it was.
Adam looked utterly magnificently beautiful. Slim and lithe and full of joy and energy and fun. I don't think I need to say anything more about the pants, do I????
The crowd was really revved up, and we shrieked our heads off both on command, and then for real for Adam. We were squished up so close together in the front area, but everyone was happy and having a great time. So many people singing along to all the words, and it was so fun how Adam has us sing along on Naked Love.
I think some people were wondering how many were in the audience-- I honestly don't know because it was impossible for me to see from where I was. But afterwards, so much flailing and all the casual fans I spoke with were really impressed and loved the songs.
And the songs, holy shit, the SONGS! They sound absolutely incredible live and loud. These songs are so so so good, guys! And it's so obvious Adam adores them and he's so excited to sing them to us.
Oh, and he was scorching fucking hot on that stage. Absolutely sex on fire, and it was quite obvious he was feelin' it, lol The moves seemed so much more, I don't know-- polished and natural than I've seen in a while. Like, I think he is seriously actually feeling totally sexy inside and out right now. He moves and dances like a man who loves and is loved hard. I don't know how else to describe it, but it was palpable.
Okay, that's all I got. Other than, omg people-- we are in for an AMAZING era!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Recap...reposting it on this thread other than the daily thread
Jimmy Kimmel was so much fun! I'm just going to say ditto to NoAngel and pflynne's post. Adam was perfection, and it was soo much fun meeting the ATOP people. Met so many, I would name names but I'm afraid I'll miss some, lol, but have to say that I'm so thankful to you all that helped made it possible for me to go.
Adam Adam Adam Adam Adam, just OMG!!! He was just so so perfect. The moves, the singing, the dancing, the outfit. And that band is totally killer and it seems that Brian really knows what he's doing.
All the songs sounded great live. I know I'm biased, lol, but I think Naked Love got the best crowd response ;D.
This era is going to be so epic, especially with sounding this good with only their first time performing these songs live.
Coming in a little late on the Kimmel performance, but just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. I went with one of my sons who is also an Adam fan. We were fairly near the front and center but when they asked us to move forward, we all got kinda squished - so I agree with whoever said that those in front could hardly move - but I managed to get in some hand clapping, dancing and all. Since I have some hearing impairment, the very best way for me to hear Adam is at a live performance - then I can truly hear the clarity of his voice. The songs that really resonated with me were NCOE (which I definitely feel should be a hit), Naked Love (that was fun; became almost like a sing-along), and best of all for me was Broken English (so ethereal and with this live performance I could pick up all his nuances; I hope he does this one on an acoustic album at some point). A shout-out to his two back-up singers. They are definitely an asset to Adam's ensemble and bring such a richness and fullness to his performance. Finally - the sound check. I have often been hopeful that at some time I could hear one of his sound checks, and this time I got it. I just love hearing that strong clear voice ringing out into the air. In peeking through some openings in the high fence we could get brief glimpses of him and the band. Whoops and applause from those of us waiting in line.
This past Thursday evening, waiting for the Kimmel concert to begin, dizzy from the vise-grip of the dense crowd, I thought to myself, "Self, what the hell are you doing?"
It seemed like forever since the last time I'd seen Adam live on the last day of GNT at Nokia, but the pain and suffering came rushing back like it was yesterday. Sore feet, hunger, thirst, dehydration. A diminished bank account and the terror of a diminishing cell phone battery. Enduring bitter cold (hey, 66 degrees is COLD in LA!) while waiting in line, and then being slow-roasted in the GA crowd.
My friends and I had followed the usual routine: Make plans with your concert pals to spend the time before the show sightseeing and doing assorted fun things. Decide that first you'll all just go "take a peek and see what the line looks like." Point and laugh at the 50 or so fans who've been waiting in line since dawn. (Of the previous day.) Start doing the aforementioned fun things but with a growing sense of unease. Realize that whatever city you're in is really boring and the most fun is probably to be had in line. Join the line. Four hours later, realize you have to pee. Start to leave, hoping your friends will let you back in line when you return. Stop in your tracks when someone mentions that soundcheck will be starting soon. Two hours later, flail as you listen to soundcheck. Make another attempt to go find a bathroom, but just then the line starts moving. Allow yourself to be herded into an inescapable holding pen. Wait 45 minutes. Once the gates open, sprint to the stage area and stake your claim to a 6-inch square patch of land. Wait 45 more minutes. Ask your friends if they'll let you back into your place if you leave to find a bathroom and be greeted by cold blank stares. Stay where you are, rationalizing that you can always get a new bladder if your current one bursts. Wonder why you always end up behind people with freakishly large heads. Wonder if all the pain and suffering is worth it.
The band walks out and takes their places, the lights dim, the music starts, Adam appears, the crowd shrieks, and that voice fills the air like something essential for life. You feel lighter than air, nothing hurts. You realize that your jaw is hanging open and you have a goofy adoring expression on your face, and you glance around to see if anyone noticed, and see that everyone else has the same expression. You watch Adam dance and sing and you see his joy. You dance and sing and are filled with joy.
And you know without any doubt whatsoever. It's worth it. It is always, always, always worth it.
As I walk the length of a city block, I notice people smoking and chatting next to the chain-link fence across from the podium. I recognize one of the men as Sauli.
I approach the guard at the podium. He confirms my ID and that I am indeed on the list. As he begins to clip the “green room” bracelet on my wrist, who comes cruising out of the building but Adam Lambert.
Tall, tan and gorgeous, wearing a black t-shirt, dark jacket with fur lining the hood, black skinny jeans, and tall black wedge boots.
He is smiling and is being escorted by a show staffer.
“Hi, Adam,” I smile and give a tiny wave.
He stops and smiles genuinely, “Hi!”
He then turns his head and spots Sauli. “Hi, babe!” he calls to him. Sauli smiles and puts out his cigarette.
“ADAM!!” bloody-curdling screams echo from the alleyway. Two women cling to the guarded barricade down the way.
Adam turns to them and waits for the rest of their message. “Come down here!” one of them shouts.
“But I,” Adam says to himself then takes a breath and shouts to them, “I GOTTA GO SING!”
Well. A little late for recap; but I've needed this time to 'take it all in'.
By now we've seen the Kimmel tapes - and NCOE & Trespassing are OVER THE TOP!!!!! We should be getting all five songs, though!!! They were ALL spectacular!!!! I tried playing them for DH - and even tho the recordings from the fans are great - sound and photography from the dude who traversed the stage for every song is what we need! And it's what Adam deserves, after gifting us a performance of such excitement, joy, sex on fire, and unabashed vocal artistry!
Flew down to LA Thursday morning. Tiny plane. I used to be afraid of flying; until Adam inspired me to leave it to the Universe. By the time we landed in LAX the woman seated next to me couldn't wait to watch Kimmel!! She even said (in a very Meg Ryan way) that she wants to sense the happiness I couldn't help but reveal as I anticipated the night ahead!
The stage for the show was set up in a parking lot just off of Hollywood Boulevard, surrounded by temporary chain-link fence. My friend and I arrived and met a short, camped-out line. Someone had taken charge, and wrote numbers 75 & 76 on the back of our hands. It wasn't long before I the line stretched along the block. Started seeing familiar faces! I swear, it was a reunion! "I saw you at Fantasy Springs!"; "We met in San Diego!"; "Your husband went to sleep in the lobby!" - - I realized this was our first gathering since Nokia; December 16, 2010.
Yep. 16 months have passed; and we greeted one another like dear, cherished, long-remembered, crazy-uninhibited friends. We understood why we climbed over one another for a glimpse through the fence - like children begging for forbidden fruit -when Adam showed up for the sound check.
Admittance was clever. Staff would scan tickets, apply bracelets, and then move us to a new line. Exactly at 6:45PM, they began to let us in. We had to pass thru body scanners; and I didn't mind that a bit! Anything to keep Adam safe; and ensure only professional videography! (Again I say - where are their videos of BE, Naked, & Cuckoo??)
They did this really weird thing. Put up a 'Trespassing' (yellow/black tape) line, keeping everyone about 25 feet from the stage. Once we were all in, they removed the tape and allowed us to walk forward, baby steps, towards the stage. In doing so, many of us found ourselves more squished and further back, row-wise, than before. A gym-class hero took the mike and said "If I see anyone walking fast or pushing I will personally come and throw you out!" before we moved forward; but when someone called to him and said "They are squishing us!" he replied "This is a concert and it's standing room only - get used to it!"
In the end, of course, it was more than worth it! Each of us found our unique way to experience Adam. I shimmied and shook and probably got too familiar with those around me with my gyrating toosh and boobs - but I had to dance!
Adam's live versions of the five songs we heard took me to a new place - a new depth, a new context of raw, sexual sophistication. In FYE, and GNT, Adam strutted for us; this time, he's walking the walk and he's doing it HIS way. I felt a realization that he knew, from this crowd, at this performance, that we really DO give a fuck - - and you could see it from his smiles and the uninhibited explosion of freedom of expression on that stage.
I'm still stunned by the experience. I watch the videos over and over! What should I do? I want to congratulate US for knowing. Believing. Allowing. Paying attention. Staying. Holding on. Supporting. I've never questioned. Never wavered. I know Adam will change the world.
This forum of understanding souls has helped ease my passion.
For me the past two days became a reunion as well as a concert and celebration! A poet once said "Full many a flower is born to blush unseen, and waste its sweetness on the desert air." Adam will never 'blush unseen' - and neither will we.
Lol, I drop in for the first time since Kimmel and get wet from all the splashing in the shallow end! LOVE it!
And just so ya know, that horn of plenty was OBVIOUS at the show, definitely NOT a shadow! I think he was really ~excited (understatement) to be performing his new songs. Lucky us! Guy sings from his "root" and it pays off in many, many ways!
So excited for the music video and to see how he stages NCOE on Idol...always something to look forward to with Adam!
LOL, 4MS, you are funny. No, not my recap although it does address the pertinent POINT here today! I got home very late Friday night, had a busy weekend, and by now figure everything has been said.
In a nutshell, the whole day/night was FABULOUS.
VickyStix numbered fans in line, the numbers were honored, all very civilized. I wore nice boots with heels which was very dumb--had to leave line and go shoe-shopping, and luckily JustKaren found a $5 pair of b/w Ked-like tennies with gold toes--PERFECT for Kimmel AND Burning Man!
Visited with a ton of new Adam friends and old. MET BYRON COOKE and I must say, I was smitten! He is tall, thin, and adorable in person and so funny/sweet. (and I'm in his video!)
Was in second row left of stage as you look at it with a fantastic view of the stage==and the tip! boner/chubby/whatever, dude was werkin' it! ;D And he was HAPPY! SO HAPPY!
NCOE and Trespassing were fantastic, I loved the Naked Love bridge (screamed 100% NL--git down, Adam!-- and sang along loudly to the Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-Oh-oh as the master instructed!) Broken English nearly put me over the edge--that bridge sounded like a sexy alien opera/siren song from Planet Fierce to me--HOPE we get a vid that sounds as lovely as it did live! Then Cuckoo was just really crazy fun! Band looked great, Brian and the Vajayjays were excellent singing backup, everyone was stellar. Only one problem--the perpetual problem--it was over too soon!
Everyone went to Rolling Stone to eat after (seems like over 30 Atoppers with guests were there?) but I stopped at the alley where Adam was supposed to come out and stood with a lovely couple from Dallas whose entire family including 6-yr-old daughter and 14-yr-old wanna-be drummer son are HUGE fans. (The husband was a total bert and the whole fam had made a huge sign for Adam.)
They had actually been inside for the show, and the man used the restroom right next to Isaac. He told Isaac how much he was looking forward to the music and Isaac said "Hey, I'm the drummer for Adam!" and the guy said, "Yeah, I know Isaac, love your drumming." He said it was so sweet how excited that made Isaac (that he knew his name.)
Anyway, I stayed there a long time considering my feet felt like two cement blocks--because Sauli was standing outside the back door talking to some friends and it was FASCINATING to watch him talk. I say WATCH him talk, because I couldn't hear him but he was gesticulating wildly the whole time! He seemed happy and excited and his hands were just flying while he was chatting. So I couldn't tear myself away, lol. Finally did, though (probably right before Adam and family got in that vehicle to drive away) because I was tired.
Joined the party at RS, had mac and cheese and two shots of Patron to celebrate, met LOTS of Atoppers in person for the first time which was AWESOME! Then walked back to the hotel (only 3 blocks!), stayed up half the night talking to Nonotme and Prism.
Friday morning, we drove around the Hollywood Hills a bit (what a cute area! but narrow, narrow streets!), took JustKaren's friend to her daughter's, drove to the Santa Monica Pier so I could dip my toes in the Pacific (TY, TY Karen for making that happen for me! )--very sad that we missed NAL's pier performance by only 48 hrs. lol.
And finally got home Friday night! I have been tired as hell ever since and had much RL catching up to do! Not even enough time to check out the Ustream that I guess you all saw OR watch all the vids or catch up at Atop. But I will. Eventually!
Just have to reiterate what Catz said a few pages ago... part of the fun of stanning Adam is just the planning, the tripping together, the beautiful people I've met--that is so great.
Then seeing him perform, the beauty--from the tip of his nose to THE tip--and hearing that spellbinding VOICE live--honestly, it is like a drug. A GOOD drug. It's always worth it and I can't get enough.
8-) Booked the Freshtival Package - this is going to be such fun! The package includes 4 tickets to the Freshtival. The hotel said that Adam is going to be performing in an outdoor staged area and that there will be two other acts - one not named yet.
This Memorial Day weekend enjoy great entertainment, food, drinks, music and fun on the beautiful outdoor grounds overlooking the Potomac river . This jam packed event will include a musical performance from a National recording Adam Lambert and Scars on 45 and other Fresh Faces Fresh Music names! Meet the entire 94.7 Fresh FM cast, Tommy, Kelly, Jen, Kristie, Darik and Taylor! The kids will have a blast in the kids’ zone filled with multiple rides and activities! And you do not want to miss the sizzling finale of a spectacular fireworks show overlooking the Potomac River.
Availability is limited so book now. Click here for more overnight package details!
You can also listen to 94.7 Fresh FM to win your Fresh 4-Pack of Day Passes, not available for purchase.
Just booked a room at the Gaylord National and asked a bunch of questions. Apparently the concert will be out in the front lawn, on the river side. I asked how they will keep it exclusive to the "paying customers", and he wasn't sure, lol. Sounds like the area will be roped off, but anyone in the vicinity will be able to hear. This is sort of great, actually - those of us with passes will be really close to the stage (I anticipate that this will have less than 1000 people), but everyone in the area will be able to hear the amazing vocals!!!
It does sort of torque me that there isn't a way to buy into just the show. I literally live 2.5 miles from the hotel. Ride my bike over there all the time. I could probalby hear the music from my house, lol. But have to buy a $250 hotel room to go. Oh well..... it will be a nice way to have a sort of stay-cation and avoid all traffic, etc.
Hope they get a good turn out. It is weird timing and i wouldn't expect a lot of non-stans to be running from afar to buy tickets. First of all - how would anyone outside of the Fresh FM listening area know about it if they weren't already in the glamdom?
Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Best news is a small, very local show, and a great location. Gaylord is quite impressive and lots of good restaurants around. There is a water taxi that goes to Mt. Vernon, Old Town Alexandria, and Georgetown, and also other river cruises that start in National Harbor. Plenty to do for a little weekend get-away.
Probable set-up for the Fresh94.7 Freshtival show at the Gaylord. This is a pic of the stage at a previous event at the Gaylord. It should be a beautiful spot at night with the lights and river in the background. Keeping fingers crossed already for good weather!!
Vocal Type: Tenor Vocal Range: 3 Octaves and a semitone B2-B5 Whistle Register: No Vocal Strengths: Adam Lambert has expert control over his instrument, producing notes that are well supported, and achieved via great technique. He is capable of singing complex melisma and is able to hold notes for periods of time without wavering in pitch or tone, seemingly effortlessly. He is an expert at mixing his voice so that the breaks between the registers aren't identifiable, and the effect of this is that it makes the voice sound almost limitless.
The lower range is dark and weighty, with a breathy quality to it in its lowest extremes. However it begins to solidify, and gain a more confident tone, quickly as it rises.
The midrange is solid, of medium weight and rounded. It can be used with a raspier, edgier texture- verses of Whataya Want From Me- or can be made sweeter, warmer and softer-A Loaded Smile- depending on what is called for. It leads fluently into the belting range.
The belting range is Adam Lambert's strongest suit. The voice possesses an elastic quality that allows it to stretch high up into the fifth octave and though the tone is light- when compared to the lower range- it's resonant, clear, bright and truly impressive. The upper fifth octave notes can be reached by mixing with the head voice, to create a strong, fuller tone or they can be sung in a rocky, piercing falsetto-Music Again 0.49- that is markedly contrasting to the breathy, sweet falsetto many males utilise. These notes can be further polished by the addition of his quick vibrato.
Adam Lambert also has a robust and piercing head voice, that, like the rest of his range, displays excellent dynamics and control.
Vocal Weaknesses: Adam Lambert's lower range lacks the resonance and ease of the rest of his range.

Press Conference ~ July 7th Queen Concert 'Rock In Wroclaw Festival' (Poland) Video
Queen concert in Wroclaw Published on Apr 27, 2012 by Wroclove2012 wroclove2012.com/artykuly-o-wroclawiu/miasto/queen-we-wroclawiu/ 'press conference before the concert Queen + Adam Lambert in Wroclaw scheduled for 7 July 2012 at Municipal Stadium with the participation of Martin Bisiorek - ESKA Rock Thomas Highlander - Dynamicom Jacek Jastrowicz - Musicart Robert Pietryszyn - Wrocław 2012
Some YT translation of the Queen+Adam in Wroclaw, Poland (Moria posted it on the other site):
"There's been many arguments as to which acts should be chosen [to kick off the the festival which is being organized for the first time]. The choice of Queen is the result of consultations with music journalists, it's not some whim of the management. I'm a great fan of Queen but that's not why they're going to play here. It's going to be a mega great concert and we're hoping to successfully repeat the formula in the future."
"It's kinda a cool thing because when we read posts on internet forums, aside from the traditional Polish buzzkills who would criticize any initiative, there are great voices from people from my own, a bit older generation who are happy to be able to hear their favorite songs from years past, but there are also lots of kids who will get a chance to listen to Adam Lambert, who is thought by the music experts to be one of the few in the today's music industry having range like Freddie Mercury, he's even compared to artists like Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. Top vocal quality."
"We don't know exactly what it's going to look like, but the person in charge is Wob Roberts, who worked with Robbie Williams and Codplay on their latest tours, so we can probably expect a highly visual-focused show. The band is currently working out the creative details."
While the Queen Extravaganza is touring the States this summer, Brian and Roger will be playing a few one-off dates overseas, in a special Queen lineup fronted by "Idol's" own Adam Lambert, whom they first met on "Idol's" amazing Season 8 finale. When asked what fans can expect from that understandably much-hyped collaboration, Roger exclaimed, "Fireworks!" And Brian expounded: "Something different. [Adam] has an extraordinary voice, there's no way you can get around that--whether you love him or hate him. He's extraordinary. So we'll be exploring new ways to do things. We don't like to just reproduce what we did before; we like to move on and try new ways of doing stuff. So it will be exciting!"

A few months ago I played on a funky Adam Lambert track called "Shady." Typically, I photograph what goes on in my daily life after being attacked by aggressive cancer last year.
Since I can't photograph and play guitar at the same time, my guitar tech Terry shoots when I'm playing. He wanted to be respectful of Adam since it was his first time meeting him, so he took these shots as discreetly as possible. Most of them are being Seen For the First Time.

Today's post is interesting on many levels. CHIC was the very first album to be recorded in the world famous Power Station Recording Studio back in 1977. After a few decades of mega-successes the studio was sold and renamed Avatar, and it's still one of the greatest studios in the world. I use every time I get the chance.
I think there's something cool about recording "Shady" in the exact place that I recorded CHIC's - CHIC, Bowie's - Let's Dance, Madonna's - Like A Virgin, Diana Ross' - Diana, Sister Sledge's - We Are Family and so on.
They say, "there's mojo in certain recording studios!" I'm hoping some of that Power Station mojo rubs off on Adam. He's a talented dude and a genuinely nice person.
I recorded so many hits in that studio that even an offshoot of Duran Duran, one of the many acts I did there, called themselves Power Station. Good Luck Adam!
lorraine: Thank you, petrajo, I hope Adam can know how much he is truly loved and cared about by people all over the world, including you ! XO
