EvokeOnline:
If anyone could make sex sound so innocent and sweet, Adam would be the one for the job. 'Naked Love' shows the singer head over heels in love while he sings for his love interest to 'take it off and try me on'. Any listener's temperature would start to rise as Adam continues singing with a gorgeous smirk on his face. Of course, the song is a message of love, but purposely created to have a whole different meaning.
Naked Love (AMMAR, Josh Abraham, Benjamin Levin, Oliver Goldstein, Dano). When Adam sings "Your naked love is what I'm dreaming of tonight," you can believe that the line's just a metaphor for the desire of emotional intimacy, complete honesty and the total lack of inhibitions. And it is that. But it's not just that.
6. Naked Love - It's still uptempo, but "Naked Love" exhibits a tenderness missing from the previous tracks' salacious come-ons. Perhaps it won't be a single, but "Naked Love" is vital to "Trespassing's" sense of balance.
If you've been paying any attention to the charts lately - or listening to pop radio, basically the same - you'll notice "Naked Love" sounds a lot like what's topping them. Specifically, it's a sweet midtempo love song that's not too far removed from what you'd hear from the likes of say, The Wanted. Those kids might not be quite so free with the nudity metaphors but its glazed-slick melodies, zippy percussion staccato oh-oh-ohs are all ways the boy-banders charmed America, and they're pop tricks that work regardless of age.
But then again, age really isn't an issue; 'Naked Love' isn't really about nudity at all. 'Take it off' is as raunchy as these lyrics get - in MPAA terms, this would just count as brief nudity; you might say the track's got strategically placed towels and sheets. This is on purpose, though; what Adam's really asking to be disrobed is his partner's inhibitions. That's an established songwriting trope- The Good Natured and Dev are just a few folks who've asked their partners in the past year to take off their defenses. But the only person likely to have heard all three of those songs is a pop blogger. Besides, 'Naked Love' asks so sweetly. Why not relent and get to know it some?
The vocal pacing on the next song: "Naked Love" took some getting used to for me (the delivery felt so slow on those verses) but by listen #3 that vocal melody worked me over! Classic pop through and through, this Benny Blanco production is just too infectious not to love it. Like many of the album tracks, it has a certain 80s or 90s sensibility in the vocal melody and truthfully seems like the most obvious choice for a summer 2012 single. I can hear this blasting from the speakers of a convertible cruising in the summer breeze. While not a personal favorite, this song quickly went from Pop Limbo to Pop Heaven in a couple of listens!

Adam Lambert on Naked Love:
"It's by Benny Blanco and the writers that did 'Moves Like Jagger,' going into a disco place. It's basically a song that's like, 'I don't want all the frills and the fancy smoke, I want the real thing: pure love.'"

The Sound Bath: Adam Lambert’s Trespassing: the vocal review
Posted on July 12, 2012 by soundbath
Naked Love is yet one more fantastic fun club dance/party song with a great beat and another song that Adam seems to get a kick out of performing live. And during live performances he invites the audience to sing along, so that it becomes a kind of anthem song for the album.
This song gives us a delicious example of real staccato and legato singing living side-by-side. It is a revelation to hear how much energy Adam invests into this song – he sings it with so much joy – in fact so much so, that the excellent, tight harmonies almost go unnoticed, but without those, the song wouldn’t be nearly as effective – genius! And he still manages to get some rock sensibility into the song too, with a few riffs nearer the end.
This is what Adam tweeted about Naked Love: “Come on folks! Relax!! Chill! It ain’t that deep- take a chance and express how u want. Strip away all the BS and get real.”
You do not have to shout but if you want to chat....

ayleim: Just checking - so there were NO Adam-sightings in the performance show right? Then I don't have to worry about being near the TV later tonight, I can just listen from the kitchen. :D

blueberry: A tech question. When I post, I'm stuck in BB Code, can't get back to Preview. Any ideas? I have Preview as default in my profile, but that doesn't help.

Q3: blueberry. there should be a two labels on tabs at the bottom of the REPLY box -- one labeled Preview and one labeled BBCode. Can you see these or are they gone?
May 19, 2013 2:08:40 GMT -5
blueberry: Q3, I can still see the labels, but when I click on the Preview label, nothing happens. And every time I start a new post, it automatically takes me to BB Code. Otherwise it doesn't matter, but posting pictures would be easier in Preview (copy+paste).
