Another thing to keep in mind about that Toronto Sun article, he didn't point out that John Mayer sold 100K less in his debut week than he did with his last album that came out around the same time as FYE, in the US anyway. And John is a well-established artist, who is more of an album seller than he is a single seller. He'll be #1 again next week but other articles have pointed out, like they did with Adam, that there are no high profile releases scheduled for next week either. Album sales are down in general. Adele is an anomaly right now, definitely not the norm. Carrie Underwood is also a bit of an anomaly too. No offense to Carrie, because she is definitely talented, but if she didn't look like a human Barbie doll, I wonder if she would be as huge as she is.
wal - enjoy your vacation time. We won't be surprised if we see a note from you now and then. Staying away that long seems almost impossible. We will have to rely on our tech & news savvy/talented members to take up the slack.
I'm going to bring my own shoes and they are going to be fierce. Adam Lambert
I didn't understand anything they said, but they showed a clip from Michael Jackson's Thriller and then showed the final scene with Adam and the dancers in neon colors. So my guess is that they were comparing it to Thriller.
Can a Mod please start a Fantasy Springs subject title in the Members Only thread. Have some logistics and lodging questions for people who attended his first show there and want to connect with others that are attending. Not going to miss this one. Thanks.
Trying so hard not to be down about all of this (this article, other similar comments, the drop, slow adds). I myself am so very proud of him but feel like he/we are fighting an uphill battle. Just don't get it. The album is so fucking awesome. I need to feel hopeful but am struggling tonight.
It has been a remarkable couple of weeks. With the amazing highs there are bound to be some low points. I am just going to gird my loins for the rough patch and look positively to the next upswing.
^^^^ THIS!! Thanks Readon
IT's really been a remarkable couple of weeks. Have never seen Adam looks so happy. I'm really thankfull and enjoying the ride but always buckle up.. LOL
"at his core, he is the hardest thing to come by in pop culture: a genuinely free-spirited, easygoing flower child who prizes love over money, peace over power." (Rolling Stone Magazine)

Unless the QUEEN OF ENGLAND wants to post here, no one has the right to use the royal "we" when discussing how people feel or what people think.
Not picking on this specific comment but for example....
"Every time we get down, great things happen......"
I know it was meant in the best way but next time post "Every time I.....
2. If you find yourself posting negative things regularly, please stop. It is not fun for anyone to read.
THANKS!

No need to apologize --
It is just something that I want to make sure that we do not start doing here.
This site was founded on a few principles -- and the most important one is that everyone's opinion deserves respect and everyone has the right to express their own opinion. That also means that no one can speak for another person.
Last week’s chart winner, “Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert, plummeted to No. 7, which comes as a disappointment seeing as the finale for the talent show aired May 23. His sophomore disc, “Trespassing,” now has almost no chance of going gold.
"no chance of going gold".... that's a bit premature isn't it? ..and he's even worse towards Haley and Kris.

One idiot's words are not going to put me in a funk. I'd rather pay attention to what one magnificently talented, beautiful, warm, and charming man said: “I think it was a real accomplishment that the album was able to chart that high without a big single.”
Adam is absolutely right. For an album to debut at #1 without a hit single behind it is amazing. And I firmly believe that the hit singles are going to happen, and that they will keep the album selling steadily. No, I can't see into the future, but neither can this critic. His statements don't even make much sense, so who cares what he says?
You do not have to shout but if you want to chat....
evergreen: So glad the refresh issue is solved! I have one other issue - I have my password set to be saved. When I enter the site, I am asked to sign in. When I click to sign in, I am not taken to where I sign in. I'm taken straight to the menu.

blueberry: A tech question. When I post, I'm stuck in BB Code, can't get back to Preview. Any ideas? I have Preview as default in my profile, but that doesn't help.

Q3: blueberry. there should be a two labels on tabs at the bottom of the REPLY box -- one labeled Preview and one labeled BBCode. Can you see these or are they gone?
May 19, 2013 2:08:40 GMT -5
blueberry: Q3, I can still see the labels, but when I click on the Preview label, nothing happens. And every time I start a new post, it automatically takes me to BB Code. Otherwise it doesn't matter, but posting pictures would be easier in Preview (copy+paste).
